OUR APPROACH

Inspired by the Eight (8) Dimensions of Wellness by SAMHSA and serving as an alternative to 12 Step Groups, our program helps individuals to tap into their intrinsic power to change their lives for the better. UR Pathway takes an in depth dive into addressing the quality of life of the whole person and gives participants an opportunity to fellowship while offering mutual support and gaining a better understanding of themselves and others.

A session of UR Pathway CONSISTS of:

  1. Breaking Bread / Check In
When hosted in person, Breaking Bread offers fellows and members an opportunity to build healthy connections. Having this time at the beginning of each session assists participants in transitioning from the busyness of the day into the UR Pathway session. Welcome and introductions also take place during this time.

  2. Affirming Mantra + Guided Group Meditation
The affirming mantra opens the space and sets the tone for the session. Meditation helps participants to disconnect from outside distractions and focus on the present moment.

  3. Pulse Check
During Pulse Check, facilitators may present our recovery aspirations and principles, ultimately participants share their current circumstances and feelings.

  4. Guided Group Discussions
Using questions and scenarios, we help participants identify their feelings and the reason why they feel the way they do. As participants learn to identify and talk about their feelings they become better able to connect with others, reducing feelings of isolation and stigma.

  5. Open Discussion
In this portion, participants dive deeper into topics mentioned during guided discussion and learn how to apply strategies learned. *Open discussion may also include a game, activity, or craft to help participants better experience and understand a main point of the lesson.

  6. Farewell Mantra + Fellowship
The farewell mantra closes the space and prepares participants to finish their day, and the rest of the week, strong. In the closing, facilitators and participants discuss their main takeaways of the session.
