Now Accepting Applications for The Antidotes!
The application is open for The Antidotes program for Summer 2024.
The Antidotes are a collective of young people (ages 12-29) working to prevent substance use, promote mental health, and encourage positive coping skills through Peer Mentoring. Developed by youth, for youth, The Antidotes empowers participants to make healthy choices and positively contribute to their community.
From peer mentoring to service-learning, The Antidotes are making a difference to meet the needs of their peers and be of service to their community. All applicants will be considered for program participation and matched with a mentor.
NOTE: Selected applicants will participate in a small cohort to be trained and certified as Youth Peer Support Specialists to implement peer mentorship where they are (church, community center, school, etc.)
While attending weekly sessions over the summer (Jun - Sep), participants will:
Earn a stipend and complete work-based learning + training
Gain leadership opportunities with MRCI and our partners
Highlight their experiences and work via podcasting & social media
Join a network of mental health/recovery advocates & professionals
Present at our annual recovery month conference, Summit UP
Receive one-on-one mentoring for their personal, academic, & professional growth
Receive a ticket to the Inaugural Legacy Gala 2024
In alignment with MRCI’s core principles and values, The Antidotes centers the lived experience of young people as an essential part of meeting their mental health needs today.
The quality of life for young people is worsening by the day, while most are living with vastly different circumstances than we experienced and saw at their age. To improve the well-being of young people, The Antidotes amplifies the voices of young people and creates opportunities for them to support their peers.
If you or you know a young person who may be interested, we encourage you to apply today!
