Board of Directors
The Board of Directors (BOD) is a collective of professionals who provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance of MRCI, given their chosen career/field.
While day-to-day operations are led by MRCI’s Executive Director, the BOD-ED relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the BOD is both critical and expected. The BOD is expected to:
Advise, govern, and oversee policy and direction of the organization.
Assist with the leadership and development of the organization, as needed.
Promote MRCI events and programming in the community
The following positions are Open for (Re)Election:
President (1)
Vice President (1)
Secretary (1)
Treasurer (1)
Member At Large (1)
Member (4)
Our Collective is excited to recruit four (4) new dedicated members to our Board of Directors. We are specifically interested in individuals with skills and backgrounds in fundraising, mental health, and nonprofit law. Additionally, we would be grateful to have a board member with a background in affordable housing, community development, or real estate.
Our board is a great opportunity for those with a personal and/or professional interest in harm reduction, substance abuse/misuse prevention, mental health awareness, peer support, recovery, and youth development.
We aim to have a Board that fully represents where we live and serve. We are seeking individuals from groups that are traditionally exploited and marginalized, including but not limited to: Hispanic/Latino, LGBTQ+, and Veterans.
Our Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30 pm. We encourage virtual participation when meeting in person isn't practical or convenient. Board terms are one year and are renewable for up to three consecutive terms.
We have 100 percent board giving and participation. Board members serve on committees, attend events, promote our organization, and engage donors and funders. Time commitment is approximately 5 hours/month (including the meeting).
